Duties: As part of the Human Resources team, you will report to the Manager of Human Resources and will provide support to a variety of human resources functions as it relates to policies, procedures, collective agreements and day to day operational needs.
This position is for you if you are effective at preparing and maintaining records in a Human Resources Information System, able to generate reports and maintain data for employee status changes; monitor and maintain accurate records of ongoing recruitment and selection activities including the ability to screen candidates and communicate with them regarding their status and have the ability to understand and apply the terms of collective agreements and diverse policies
Education: It is preferred that candidates hold a minimum of a two-year diploma in human resources, business administration or a related field as well as have human resources related experience, ideally experience with a unionized workforce.
Skills: Your ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people, as well as experience with an automated human resources/payroll system, and hands on experience in a fast paced work environment with multiple priorities, will be an asset to the Human Resources team at the City of Chilliwack.
