| Duties: | GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
The incumbent in this class assists management to achieve efficient operation of the Parks Section of the Operations Department through reliable performance of Labourer duties observing and complying with municipal policies and safety practices. NATURE AND SCOPE OF WORK: The incumbent in this class will be required to perform all non and semi-skilled tasks associated with labourer duties; cutting grass with manual and mechanical equipment; repairing fences and parks equipment; cleaning grounds and refuse; digging, weeding and other non-skilled gardening tasks; performing general janitorial and maintenance duties; operating all equipment required for the performance of duties and performing other related duties as assigned. Assignments are performed under general supervision in accordance with established routine and performance is subject to review, inspection and evaluation by the Supervisor II. |
| Education: | Must have grade 8 education with a minimum of two (2) years experience in the labourer force - OR - a combination of training and experience;
Must be in possession of a valid B.C. Driver's Licence |
| Skills: | Able to establish and maintain a good working relationship with other staff members;
Able to recognize and rectify and/or report upon actual or potential safety hazards; Able to perform manual work and lift heavy objects; Working knowledge of tools, equipment, procedures, principles and methods used in labourer work. |
| Salary: | $21.79 to 25.63 /hr (2017) |
